Toddlers

Our Toddler class is for students turning 18 months before September 1, 2016. Our youngest students are given the utmost care by our beloved Morah Ilana. This class caps out at 6 children, so that we can maintain our close nit environment. Through puzzles, blocks, imaginary play, songs and gardening, these precious children blossom into beautiful toddlers in our nursery class. They learn to match colors, build fine and gross motor skills, and importance of healthy social interaction. In this Russian inclusive class they learn songs, poems and colors in Russian. Our Toddler room is where love of nature, music and the outdoors come together for an experience that will stay with our children well into their schooling years, giving them a lifelong love of learning.

The focus is on five key developmental areas:

  • Sensory and perceptual development
  • Self-help skills
  • Physical and motor skills
  • Social and emotional growth

The first few years of your child’s life are crucial to the development of personality and intellect. This is a period during which learning takes place at an accelerated pace. We provide the sense of security and loving care that toddlers need to thrive during this stage of intense learning.  Since toddlers are especially committed to achieving independence, our teachers provide responsive individual attention as your child deals with positive experiences as well as frustration. Our curriculum takes advantage of the rapid growth of gross and fine motor skills at this stage of development.  This class is bi-lingual and the teachers speak mostly in Russian with the students.
